If you manage an office building, you have likely arranged for a cleaning service to go through the complex on specific days to clean up the offices, throw out the trash in the individual office bins, and so on. But cleaning bathrooms and vacuuming the hallways are not the only cleaning services that your building will need. Here are three other parts of the building for which you must arrange janitorial services on a regular basis.
Furniture and Upholstery
Any lobbies, waiting rooms, break rooms, and other places with communal furniture need to have that furniture cleaned regularly. Doing so will both keep the furniture looking good and also remove dead skin cells, dust, and other icky substances. Remember that these furniture items are used by a lot of people -- it's not like the couch in your home that might be used by just your family members. The Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification says to clean these well at least once a year.
Interior Planters
Exterior landscaping is likely already taken care of by a groundskeeping company, but what do you do about interior planters? Whether the plants are in containers lining a hallway or in a giant planter that takes up half of the lobby, the plants need to be cared for and the containers maintained to prevent pests and mold from taking hold and spreading. Drainage in planters that are set into the wall needs to be checked frequently to ensure that the drainage holes aren't clogged, which can lead to some nasty mold problems in an office building, especially one that has windows that do not open.
Air Ducts
The air ducts throughout the building should be cleaned out occasionally. Not only does this remove extra dust that's built up, but it can clear out odors that accumulate and live in that dust. This is very important if you have people who wear a lot of perfumes or who smoke outside the building and carry the smoke in on their clothing.
If you want more help with figuring out what needs to be cleaned and when, talk to a commercial cleaning service. Depending on the company, it could take care of all of these issues and more, or it could refer your building to an additional company. Regardless of what the companies do, though, they will help you get that office building clean and healthy.

Growing up, I was extremely close to my family. In fact, I lived with my parents and my sister until I married my husband eleven years ago. Unfortunately, I moved seventy-five long miles away from my family after my wedding. But I still visit my childhood home at least once each month. Our growing family also still celebrates all of the major holidays including Easter. Because my husband and I plan to start a family soon, we hope to begin hosting more family gatherings at our home. When this takes happens, I know I will need help cleaning my house. On this blog, I hope you will discover how hiring cleaning services can help you plan a stress-free Easter celebration.
