Maid Services 101: 3 Essential Tips For A Good Experience

Blog

Housework—more specifically, cleaning—is a task that most people don't enjoy. Whether due to a busy schedule or lack of desire, keeping your home tidy and clean may simply fall by the wayside. Luckily, you can hire a maid service to do much—if not all—of your housework for you.

Hiring a maid service is very easy. Just make sure you follow these three essential tips to ensure your expectations are met:

1. Communicate Your Cleaning Expectations

Perhaps the most important tip is to communicate your expectations clearly. Maids often offer a variety of services. From weekly dusting and vacuuming to dish-washing, there is a lot of variation when it comes to cleaning. Unfortunately, this can make it tough for your maid to meet your expectations. So always communicate exactly what you want cleaned during the visits. If you want something extra done—once or regularly—be sure to mention it as well.

You can do this by taking the maid on a walk-through of your home and pointing out what you want done. Alternatively, you can make a list and keep it in a visible location. You could also communicate your desires to the cleaning company. Regardless, make sure you communicate these desires to your maid.

2. Discuss Cleaning Supplies

You should also take some time to discuss cleaning supplies. Some maid services provide their own cleaning supplies, while others will ask for you to provide them. This isn't a huge deal, but it is important to know. In addition, make sure to mention whether eco-friendly cleaning solutions are important to you. If they are, you might want to supply your own cleaning tools and solutions.

3. Inform The Maid About Pets

It is also important that you inform the maid or agency of any pets you might have. Whether you have a gerbil or a cat, this is information that your maid needs to know. Even if the animal will be caged up during the visit, the maid needs to know this. Some maids might be afraid of specific animals. In addition, some maids might have an allergy to a specific animal. So it is crucial that you let the maid know before their visit.

In addition, you should discuss with the maid whether there are any cleaning concerns that might involve your pets. For example, using specific cleaners near their bed or food bowls. Although simple, it's easy to overlook and could be life-saving for your pet.

Hiring a maid to clean your house is a great investment—especially if you don't have the time or motivation to do it yourself. By using these three tips, you'll ensure that both you and the maid have a good experience. Contact a company like Crystal Angel Cleaning for more info.

An Easter Celebration

Growing up, I was extremely close to my family. In fact, I lived with my parents and my sister until I married my husband eleven years ago. Unfortunately, I moved seventy-five long miles away from my family after my wedding. But I still visit my childhood home at least once each month. Our growing family also still celebrates all of the major holidays including Easter. Because my husband and I plan to start a family soon, we hope to begin hosting more family gatherings at our home. When this takes happens, I know I will need help cleaning my house. On this blog, I hope you will discover how hiring cleaning services can help you plan a stress-free Easter celebration.
