Types Of Carpet Cleaning Methods

Blog

There's nothing as irritating as a dirty or dusty carpet. Carpets have different carpet fibers, and this means they require different types of cleaning methods. Before you go shopping for carpet cleaning services, you should familiarize yourself with different carpet cleaning methods.

Dry Carpet Cleaning

There's little downtime with dry carpet cleaning because the carpet doesn't have to dry for a long time compared to other methods. In most cases, the cleaner will use a special cleaning powder. The powder is sprinkled over the carpet so it can attract all the dirt. After some time, the cleaner will use a vacuum to suck up the powder, thus completing the cleaning process.

Some carpet cleaning companies have modified this method by using cleansers. For example, a cleaner may use an oxygenated cleanser. This method is effective because it leaves your carpet wet for a brief moment. The oxygenated bubbles attract dirt from your carpet. This method is popular because the carpet dries fast and can be back in service in a few minutes.

Bonnet Cleaning

This cleaning method is used for light maintenance. With this approach, the cleaner will vacuum the carpet and then spray a chemical solution with an electric sprayer or hand pump. The cleaner will leave the solution on the carpet to allow it to react to the dirt particles.

Afterward, a bonnet or absorbent pad is placed on a rotary floor machine and moved over the carpet at 100-300 revolutions per minute. This is done so the carpet fibers can absorb the chemical solution. The chemical is then withdrawn together with the dirt particles. This method is common in hotels, offices, and areas with high foot traffic.

Steam Cleaning

This method is commonly known as the hot-water extraction approach. This method uses hot water. The temperature of the water is between 150-200 degrees Fahrenheit. The water is sprayed with a high pressure to enable the dirt particles to loosen. The professional cleaner sucks out the dirt using a vacuum cleaner and stores it in a tank. They finally mix the water with a cleansing detergent.

Steam cleaning is a popular method because hot water kills dust mites, fungus, and bacteria. This leaves the carpet anti-allergic after steam cleaning. It's also preferred because it gets out soiling from deep down in the carpet. Most professional cleaners use a truck-mounted hot water extraction unit.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a carpet cleaning service, you should review the companies' cleaning techniques. You also need to inquire about the chemicals used by these cleaning services. Whether you want home or office carpet cleaning services, you should insist on environmentally friendly carpet cleaning methods.

An Easter Celebration

Growing up, I was extremely close to my family. In fact, I lived with my parents and my sister until I married my husband eleven years ago. Unfortunately, I moved seventy-five long miles away from my family after my wedding. But I still visit my childhood home at least once each month. Our growing family also still celebrates all of the major holidays including Easter. Because my husband and I plan to start a family soon, we hope to begin hosting more family gatherings at our home. When this takes happens, I know I will need help cleaning my house. On this blog, I hope you will discover how hiring cleaning services can help you plan a stress-free Easter celebration.
